Part 03 Begins! Please note that all characters are fictional... Any comparison with names and similiar characters is purely coincidental... :P
They seemed to have fallen forever. But they finally find themselves beneath the floor-boards of the school. Rubble surrounded them, and there was dust everywhere. Samuel struggled to get up, trying to look for Cheryl's body in the huge pile of ceramic. There was blood scattered on the chunks of brick and tile. Samuel groped in the darkness, apparently blinded by the thick veil of dust.
"Where's everybody?!!" He exclaimed, exasperated and weary.
Suddenly, he felt a cold hand touch his back. Aghast, Samuel turned to see who it was. But no one was there. He felt the world around him turn. Round and round. Then he felt his strength leave him, and he collapsed.
When he awoke, he found himself laid near the escalators. David, Yee Meng, Daryl and Xavier greeted him, and Samuel felt that bit relieved that they were alive. Then he felt his heart burn; he was exhausted. The school was silent, no evil puppeteer and no demons. Xavier withdrew a queer looking artifact; a projector that seemed to show a map of the school.
"The school is void of life," said Xavier. "I wondered what happened?"
Yee Meng helped Samuel to his feet.
"You're awake, you okay, Sam?" David asked.
"Better than you," Samuel replied.
Daryl had returned to his normal self, but he was emanating some bluish aura from his body.
"Turn the light off, Daryl!" David joked.
"Cannot la, you stupid or what," Daryl replied. "It's just there."
"Joking only," David replied.
"I don't find it funny."
Samuel was still pondering for a moment of Cheryl's death. It came to suddenly, and it felt as if he had lost a million years. Tears started to well up in his eyes, but he managed to hold back quickly. All he saw now, was thousands of stars blinding his eyes... as he transcended through the gaps of despair.
The sound of the escalator rang through the atrium. The deep silence chilled the entire atrium like a blizzard, and there was almost no sound to compliment the long ease of speech. At night, Xavier and David went to grab food from an empty Queers in the shopping arcade. The shelves were arranged unevenly, tidbits and pasta littered the counter. The air vents were broken, and from a hole in the ceiling water continued to drip onto the floorboards.
"Crazy shit going on here...Let's just party through the night!" Xavier said jokingly. "There's nothing left anyway."
Xavier and David then headed to Block M, where the gang had moved to. The smoke detectors were still dripping with water, black puddles of an unknown liquid formed below them.
Xavier pressed the lift.
Ding-Dong.
The elevator had arrived.
(NOTE: Only teachers can teleport in this story :P )
Even the elite lecturers were gone, there was barely any life possibly left in the campus. As Xavier and David were about to enter the lift, something grabbed David's left leg.
"AHHH!" David exclaimed.
Slowly, he was being sucked by some invisible vortex outside the lift. Faintly under the dim moonlight, the attacker's reflection could be seen in the black puddles of water. Xavier struck the attacker with a lightning blade, cutting it in two. When it seemed to be over, Xavier was suddenly struck from the back, and David felt something grab his neck. David unleashed a rage of fiery petals from his rose-gun striking the invisible target, and there was a thump on the ceiling. Xavier elbowed the air in front of him, missing. David tried to use his rose-gun again. It hit nothing and the petals flew off towards the wall, smashing a hole in it.
"We can't see them! How to whack?!" David cried.
"Just try and whack them randomly!" Xavier replied.
Just then, beams of light flew towards Xavier and David, but instead of hitting them, it sent the invisible targets flying. A surge of red appeared where the invisible targets fell, making out the outline of a human figure. Then it disappeared again, and there was signs of movement from where the targets fell. The invisible figures were moving again. Then they heard a familair voice.
"You refuse to stay down, now you perish in my vigil."
A cloaked figure charged forward. Her scarlet cloak patterned beautifully with black ornate glyphs, she slashed at the nothingness, and once again red streaks surged in mid-air from around them. THis time revealing figures vibrating in pain, and as they fell, they disappeared, then reappeared.
Five of them lay unconscious, half-beasts, all with horns. Demons. What was more impressive was that the scarlet cloaked woman took on all five of them as if they were nothing, and the fact that she could see them... and the fact that she was someone they knew.
